National Caregiver Day is on February 17th, and we would like to take a moment to recognize all the hard work that caregivers in our community do for seniors. It is observed every year on the 3rd Friday in February, but in our opinion, caregivers should be recognized every single day.
Caregivers help with personal care, bathing, shopping, making doctor appointments, housekeeping, meal prepping, feeding, walking, and medication management, just to name a few. While our agency does pay caregivers to do these things, did you know that there are over 53 million caregivers in the United States who care for friends or family members without any compensation, and that most of them are seniors themselves with poor health?
It takes a special person to be a caregiver for someone else and put others’ needs above your own. Thank you, caregivers, for all you are doing out there. Thank you for your patience, kindness, and dedication to helping others. The world needs more people like you!
